Tipos de mesas de ping pong

Las mesas de ping pong se dividen en cuatro categorías:

  • Mesas de interior plegables para la práctica en interiores o lugares de exterior techados que no les de el sol directo aunque tampoco es recomendable que le afecte la humedad por lo que si es un día de lluvia o por la noche se recomienda que estén en interior.
  • Mesas de exterior plegables con un tablero especial para poder jugar al aire libre y resistentes a la interperie.
  • Mesas antivandálicas de exterior robustas para su instalación en parques, camping, etc…

Calidades de las mesas de Ping Pong

Grosor del tablero de la mesa

Las mesas de interior pueden ser de 15mm, 18mm, 22mm, 25mm o 28mm. Para que tenga un bote de pelota correcto ha de ser mínimo de 15mm de espesor y a mayor grosor mejor calidad del bote, las mesas profesionales suelen ser de 22 o 25mm que es lo normal aunque hay algún fabricante que usa 28mm.

Estructura de las patas y carro

Hay mesas más básicas que utilizan tubos redondos más frágiles y mesas más robustas que utilizan tubos cuadrados que pueden ser de 30x30, 40x40, 50x50 o incluso más.

Ruedas para el trasporte de la mesa

Hay varios tipos de calidades, están las ruedas de plástico más frágiles y las ruedas metálicas con cojinete y con goma  que son más robustas y que pueden ser de diferentes tamaños dependiendo del tamaño de la estructura de la mesa.

Tipo de red incluida o que puede adaptársele

Muchos modelos de mesas profesionales no incluyen la red y se ha de comprar por separado, hay diferentes tipos de redes de ping pong, están con sistema de pinza que se montan y desmontan fácilmente o con sistema de rosca que se quedan un mejor fijadas, las de mayor calidad son las redes metálicas con malla de tela e incorporan un tensor para poder tensarla y una rosca para poder regular su altura para cumplir con la altura reglamentaria, hay otro tipo de redes de ping pong económicas de plástico y sin tensor aunque por la diferencia de precio no merecen la pena.

Marco alrededor del tablero

Existen mesas que no incorporan marco aunque no son recomendables ya que la función del marco lo que hace es dar fuerza al tablero y evitar que se deforme. Los marcos suelen ser de 30x20mm , 40x20, 50x20 o 60x20, a mayor medida más resistencia y también le da un aspecto de más calidad.

Sistema de seguridad

Hay que tener en cuenta si cuenta con cerrojos o pestillos de cierre de seguridad cuando las mesas se pliegan para guardarlas y que no se puedan abrir por accidente y la calidad de estos cierres.

En todas las mesas con carro de ruedas y plegables se puede jugar al ping pong en modo frontón ya que se puede dejar plegado uno de los dos tableros y abrir el otro tablero y montarle la red.
